This has to be the coziest piece I have ever made along with my Magnolia Oversized Scarf. I worked on The Merryall Oversized Scarf with Lion Brand Yarn as a freelancer designer using their Cover Story yarn.
When I saw the yarn I would be working with I knew it had to be a piece that is comfy, stylish and that I could wear outside. The pattern can be found for free in the Joann's website. You can purchase The Merryall Oversized Scarf for a small amount on Etsy here, on my Website here or on Ravelry here.
The Merryall Oversized Scarf is the ultimate cozy scarf to wear in those colder days. It is so soft and the material of the yarn makes you feel that you are going out wearing your favorite blanket. I used a couple of cables that together makes this scarf look fashionable and stylish.
This Scarf is designed having Intermediate knitters in mind but if you are an adventurous beginner, feel free to give it a try. The stitches are explained clearly and the pattern also includes a chart. This will help you get more familiar with Chart reading and continue to improve in your knitting skills. I assure you that once you start working on this project it will be a little hard to put it down. It gets cozier and cozier by the row and its a perfect project to sit down in your special couch and relax by the fireplace with your coffee or tea. I thoroughly enjoyed working on it and I am so happy that Lion Brand and Joann's loved it as well.
I even had enough yarn left to make my daughter a scarf using the Bamboo stitch. You can see a tutorial on this stitch on my YouTube channel, here.
For The Merryall Oversized Scarf you will need just one cake of Cover Story. I chose to work with the color Mineral. You will also need 13US (9mm) knitting needles, a cable needle and a large-eye blunt needle.
You will end up with a size 12 x 113 in (30.5 x 287 cm) blocked but you can knit it until you reach your desire length.
I hope this is one of the patterns you would like to work on during this season. Because of the thickness of the yarn, it won't take too long to finish it.
